Atlantic Street officially re-opened Saturday, September 7th, beneath the new Atlantic Street Bridge. Motor vehicles and pedestrians are now free to use the road.
Sections of Atlantic Street had been closed since February in order for the State Department of Transportation to replace the Metro North bridge and institute significant roadway improvement. The street has been widened to three northbound and southbound lanes respectfully and the road was lowered to accommodate to increased connectivity.
Travelers should expect intermittent lane closures as additional work takes place. The city would like to thank residents for their patience while the street was closed. Please visit atlanticstreetbridge.com
