Applying for a Dump Permit

Residents with a "Dump Permit" are allowed to dump 200lbs. free per day. To obtain a permit bring your Stamford registered vehicle registration to the Scale House. If your vehicle is not registered in Stamford, a utility bill at your Stamford address is required along with the vehicle registration.

Cars with residential license plates only may bring up to 200 lbs. of material per day, free. (No Commercial Vehicles)

From East Main Street, drive south on Myrtle Avenue to Jefferson Street, then turn left on Magee Avenue. The recycling center is on your left.

From Tresser Boulevard, drive south on Canal Street, then turn left on Jefferson Street, then right on Magee Avenue. The recycling center is on your left.

For all commercial/combination vehicles, and residential vehicles with over 200 lbs of recycling/garbage.

Residential/Commercial Dumping Services:
Monday - Friday: 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Saturday: 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

The residential dumping area closes at 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and at 2:30 on Saturday. You must be in line no less than 30 minutes prior to Scale House closing.

Residents with over 200 lbs. of material per day in a passenger vehicle, free. If it looks like you have over 200 lbs., your vehicle will be weighed and you will be charged $4.40 per 100 pounds of additional weight.

The following materials are not accepted for disposal: asbestos shingles, chemicals, hazardous waste, liquids, latex and oil-based paint, sheetrock.  Click here to find out where to dispose of these items.
