Property owners will receive a letter in the mail from the Assessors Office in early December 2017. The notice will provide the property owner with the prior assessed value, new assessed value and percentage of growth or decline as a result. The notice will also list the estimated growth or decline of all taxable real estate as a result of the revaluation.
This information can be used to estimate the property tax impact prior to any adjustments, exemptions, elderly benefits, or future City budget adjustments for fiscal year 18/19. The Estimated Growth of the Grand List is an estimate since the personal property and motor vehicle lists have not yet been valued. Prior year values of the personal property and motor vehicle lists were used in this estimation.

The notice will also provide contact information to schedule an informal meeting with a representative of Municipal Valuation Services LLC. There is no fee associated with this request. Informal meetings will be held in the month of January 2018. Walk-ins will not be accepted. As a property owner, you will be able to submit to the meeting any pertinent documentation you feel could affect the valuation of your property.
Result letters will be mailed out to property owners to indicate whether the meeting resulted in a change in value or no change in value.
