Crime & Gun Stoppers Program

The Stamford Police Crime & Gun Stoppers offers rewards for anonymous information provided to the Stamford Police Department through the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 203-977-TIPS that leads to an arrest. This program is supported by the Stamford Police Foundation and focusses on solving high priority violent crimes.

What does "anonymous" mean?

  • We will never ask for your name.
  • We won't record your call
  • We don't trace phone numbers or tips submitted online
  • You won't have to make a statement to police
  • You will not appear in court

  • Phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and IP addresses are NEVER captured, tracked, or saved.
  • Information should be about a violent crime (i.e., homicide, robbery, stabbing, shooting, sexual assaults, etc.) However, Crime Stoppers is always willing to receive tips related to any type of crime.
  • When a tip leads to an arrest , YOU will receive a reward. (Reward amount based upon Stamford Police Foundation committee review.)
  • All illegal guns seized where an arrest is made will be paid $1,000.00.

How you will get paid

If you provide a tip through the internet, text or voicemail, you will receive a control number.
