Background

The City of Stamford has been awarded $2.1 million in federal funding through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) program. This project will support the design and engineering of approximately 1.1 miles of the West Main Street corridor between Greenwich Avenue and Havemeyer Lane. The project includes roadway and intersection improvements, traffic signal upgrade, sidewalk improvements, visible crosswalks with shorter crossing distance, separated and/or shared bike lanes, and enhanced bus boarding island stops.
