Background

Goals

The proposed bridge replacement consists of a new single-span precast prestressed concrete beam superstructure with a concrete deck, supported on pile-founded abutments. The vertical alignment of U.S. Route 1 will be raised approximately 2.5 feet in the vicinity of the bridge to meet minimum hydraulic opening requirements.

The proposed bridge replacement will result in approximately 600-feet of roadway reconstruction. New pavement, guide railing and drainage will be provided within the project limits. Sidewalks on both sides of the proposed bridge will be provided as part of the project.
