What is StamFORWARD?

StamFORWARD is a ridesharing service within the City of Stamford run by the company Via and overseen by the Transportation, Traffic, and Parking Department.

StamFORWARD is available for use by anyone. It has discounts for seniors age 62 and up as well as users with disabilities.

Senior and ADA users are able to be picked up and dropped off door-to-door anywhere within the ride zone shown in the map below.

How do you access StamFORWARD?

In order to access StamFORWARD you must download the app from the App Store or Google Play, or you can create an account and book rides through the telephone number 203-204-9782. StamFORWARD can be used by anyone regardless of place of residence, but will only make trips within the zone shown above.

What is the price?

Seniors and ADA riders can ride StamFORWARD for $0.85 a trip (one-way). Anyone accompanying the rider as an aide rides free. Any additional riders who are not an aide can travel for $0.85 each.

Where do you purchase tickets for StamFORWARD?

You only pay when you accept a proposed ride. All rides must be booked from the app or through the phone number. You do not pay or tip the driver.

When does StamFORWARD operate?

StamFORWARD operates 6:00 am to 8:00 pm 7 days a week, as well as on holidays.

How do the accessible vans work?

The wheelchair accessible vans use rear lowering wheelchair ramps. These vans are the best fit for riders with wheelchairs, scooters or other rolling mobility devices. The vans can accommodate multiple riders but only one rolling passenger at a time. Riders with canes, walkers, non-rolling mobility devices or other mobility difficulties but who do not roll may be better suited by the regular vans which are lower to the ground and easier to step into. All vans have step stools which can be accessed by asking a driver for assistance on their arrival.
