What is Share the Fare?

Share the Fare is a subsidized taxi program designed to help Stamford seniors (age 62+) and individuals with disabilities travel more affordably around the city. The program allows eligible residents to purchase taxi vouchers at half price and use them for rides with local taxi companies. Vouchers are sold at the Cashiering and Permitting Office just off the first-floor lobby of the Stamford Government Center.

Participants must bring a valid photo ID, proof of age (62+) or disability documentation.

What is the price?

Eligible participants can purchase a $50.00 taxi voucher book, used just like cash to pay for metered taxi fares, for only $25.00. Each book holds ten (10) $5.00 vouchers.

Where can I purchase Share the Fare Vouchers?

Voucher books can be purchased at the Cashiering & Permitting Department located at 888 Washington Blvd.,1st Floor, Stamford, CT 06901. Participants can only purchase four (4) books per month per individual.
