Letter From the Mayor

Dear Stamford Residents,

Three years ago, I had the privilege of being sworn in as the Mayor of Stamford. Since then, my team and I have been working hard to implement policies and initiatives that support my vision of building a city that is more equitable, inclusive, innovative, and a place where everyone can thrive.

Together, we have made substantial progress toward that vision. Our work is rooted in our commitment to three priorities: investing in our city’s infrastructure, advancing economic prosperity, and making government more responsive to enhance quality of life for residents.

Below is just a snapshot of the exciting initiatives and accomplishments from this year:

  • Opened the city’s first walk-in permitting center on the 7th floor of the Government Center, a dedicated space that allows Stamford residents seeking a permit to ask questions of city staff regarding residential and minor commercial projects.
  • Launched StamFORWARD, a pilot a two-year program for on-demand microtransit services, enhancing connectivity, accessibility, and mobility in Stamford.
  • Secured $17 million in federal funding for the West Side Neighborhood Connector Project, improving connectivity between the West Side, Downtown, and South End neighborhoods and the Stamford Transportation Center.
  • Opened the Stamford Regional Police Academy at the Stamford Police Department and graduated the first class of recruits.
  • Completed new turf fields at Lione Park, West Beach, and Stamford High School.

As I head into my fourth year in office, I am eager to continue advancing key initiatives that strengthen our community, promote economic growth, improve our infrastructure, and ensure Stamford remains a safe, thriving, and welcoming city for everyone. I invite you to contact me with any questions or feedback you have about the work we are doing. You can reach me at mayorsoffice@stamfordct.gov or call the Citizens Services line at (203)-977-4150.

Thank you for the opportunity to lead our city and I cannot wait to see what else we accomplish in the next year.

Sincerely,
