Phase 1 (Completed)

The project is funded through Federal Transit Administration and the City of Stamford. Total project cost is $65 million.

This project is one mile long facility located on the south of the railroad tracks along Cherry Street and Jefferson Street between Elm Street and Canal Street; and extending with a new aesthetic facility through Dock Street to provide a direct link to the Stamford Transportation Center area between Canal Street and Atlantic Street.

This project improves traffic operations, safety, efficiency, and encourages public transportation and non-motorized modes of transportation to address current and future traffic needs. This project also provides travel lanes, high occupancy vehicle lanes, bus priority, traffic signals, bicycle way, sidewalks, and landscaping. One of the travel lanes is dedicated for the use of buses, taxis, private shuttle vehicles, and vehicles carrying more two or more persons.
