Board of Assessment Appeals

The deadline to accept appeal applications for real estate assessments on the October 1, 2019 Grand List and motor vehicle assessments on the October 1, 2018 Supplemental List has passed.
 

If a completed application was filed and received by the Assessor's office by 4:30 PM on February 20th, 2020, a written notice of hearing date and time will be sent out via mail from the Board of Assessment Appeals office. If you do not receive the notification by February 28th, 2020, please call (203) 977-4016.

 
About the Board of Assessment Appeals

The Board of Assessment Appeals is an official municipal agency. It is designed to serve as an appeal body for taxpayers who believe that town or city assessors erred in the valuation of their properties or erroneously denied them exemptions.The Board is composed of persons who have been appointed by the Mayor of Stamford. The Board enables taxpayers to be heard by their peers at no expense. No fees are charged for the appeal process. Furthermore, taxpayers do not have to be represented by counsel.
