Read below to learn more about initiatives my administration is working on, resources for Stamford residents, information about upcoming events, and important city and state information.

This week, I released the following statements following increased ICE activity in Stamford:

MAYOR’S UPDATES

Stamford Chosen as Home for MLS Media Production: Major League Soccer (MLS) has selected Stamford as the home for its media and broadcast production, located at WWE’s headquarters downtown! This investment strengthens Stamford’s growing role in the digital media and entertainment sector. Our administration remains committed to supporting this industry, including preserving state digital media tax incentives that keep jobs and companies here. Read more here.

CITY NEWS

Stamford 2035 Comprehensive Plan: We are excited to announce that the Stamford 2035 Draft Plan is available for public review and comment! Click here to view the plan and click here to submit your feedback. There are additional opportunities for residents to provide feedback, including a public meeting of the Planning Board on Tuesday, August 12 and two public hearings on Tuesday, September 2 (virtual) and Tuesday, September 16 (in-person at the 4th floor cafeteria at the Government Center). Reimaging Bedford Street: My administration has recently launched the Reimagine Bedford Street project which is a community-driven visioning process to shape the future of Bedford Street between Broad Street and Forest Street. Walk In Permitting: Don’t miss our upcoming walk-in permitting hours intended for residential and small commercial businesses such as food businesses, cosmetology, barber, and retail food establishments. City officials will be present to help those in attendance. Next session will be on Wednesday, September 3^rd between 8:30am – 10:30 am in the 7^th Floor Lobby of Government Center.

The Board of Assessment Appeals: The Board of Assessment Appeals for motor vehicles will be held on September 11th, 2025. Application deadline is August 27th, 2025. Please click here for more information

Lathon Wider Community Center: On the morning of Thursday, January 2, the City Facilities Department was notified of a flooding incident in the basement of the Lathon Wider Community Center (137 Henry Street) caused by a failure in a piece of mechanical equipment. The target date for reopening the building is early October 2025. For any questions or urgent needs regarding the Health Department’s walk-in health services, please call (203)-977-5652.
- The Stamford Health Department Community Public Health Clinic has temporarily moved to 138 Stillwater Avenue - a former Optimus location. Convenient street parking is available.

Traffic

Old Long Ridge Road Bridge: After a visual inspection of the Old Long Ridge Road Bridge, just south of Hunting Ridge Road, city engineers have implemented a temporary one-way traffic pattern, effective immediately. The City will share further updates as they become available.

Mill Road Bridge: The Mill Road bridge near Old Long Ridge Road is open to one lane vehicular traffic. Residents can click here for updates.

Wire Mill Bridge: The Wire Mill Bridge is currently closed to vehicular traffic due to replacement. Residents can click here for updates.

Connecticut Department of Transportation Stamford Station Construction: Construction continues at the Stamford Train Station, so please make sure to plan ahead.
