Read below to learn more about initiatives my administration is working on, resources for Stamford residents, information about upcoming events, and important city and state information.

This week, I released the following statement after an incident of anti-Muslim hate speech that took place on the evening of August 9^th:

MAYOR’S UPDATES

Westhill Construction Update: This week, marks a major milestone in the Westhill High School construction project—the launch of geothermal drilling. This clean, renewable energy system will power the new school efficiently, lowering operating costs while greatly reducing our environmental footprint. It’s a key step in our ongoing commitment to building sustainable infrastructure that will serve and benefit our community for generations to come.
Veterans Meeting: This week, I stood alongside Stamford veterans in urging VA Connecticut Health Care System leadership to keep the VA CBOC clinic here in our city. Our veterans, who have honorably served our nation, deserve local, accessible care. I’m proud to share that the clinic will remain open, ensuring they can continue receiving the resources and support they’ve rightfully earned.

Stamford 2035 Comprehensive Plan: We are excited to announce that the Stamford 2035 Draft Plan is available for public review and comment! Click here to view the plan and click here to submit your feedback. There are additional opportunities for residents to provide feedback, including a public meeting of the Planning Board on Tuesday, August 12 and two public hearings on Tuesday, September 2 (virtual) and Tuesday, September 16 (in-person at the 4th floor cafeteria at the Government Center). Reimaging Bedford Street: My administration has recently launched the Reimagine Bedford Street project which is a community-driven visioning process to shape the future of Bedford Street between Broad Street and Forest Street. The Board of Assessment Appeals: The Board of Assessment Appeals for motor vehicles will be held on September 11^th, 2025. Application deadline is August 27^th, 2025. Please click here for more information

Walk In Permitting Schedule: Don’t miss our upcoming walk-in permitting hours intended for residential and small commercial businesses such as food businesses, cosmetology, barber, and retail food establishments. City officials will be present to help those in attendance. Next session will be on Wednesday, August 20^th between 9:30am – 12:00pm in the 7^th Floor Lobby of Government Center.

Lathon Wider Community Center: On the morning of Thursday, January 2, the City Facilities Department was notified of a flooding incident in the basement of the Lathon Wider Community Center (137 Henry Street) caused by a failure in a piece of mechanical equipment. The target date for reopening the building is early October 2025. For any questions or urgent needs regarding the Health Department’s walk-in health services, please call (203)-977-5652.
- The Stamford Health Department Community Public Health Clinic has temporarily moved to 138 Stillwater Avenue - a former Optimus location. Convenient street parking is available.

Hurricane Season Preparedness: Hurricane season is here, and preparing now is one of the most important steps you can take to keep yourself and your loved ones safe: Make a plan: Know your evacuation zone and discuss with your family how you will stay in touch.
Build a kit: Include essentials such as water, non-perishable food, medications, a flashlight, batteries, chargers, a first aid kit, important documents, and supplies for pets or babies.

Old Long Ridge Road Bridge: After a visual inspection of the Old Long Ridge Road Bridge, just south of Hunting Ridge Road, city engineers have implemented a temporary one-way traffic pattern, effective immediately. The City will share further updates as they become available.

Mill Road Bridge: The Mill Road bridge near Old Long Ridge Road is open to one lane vehicular traffic. Residents can click here for updates.

Wire Mill Bridge: The Wire Mill Bridge is currently closed to vehicular traffic due to replacement. Residents can click here for updates.
