Stamford Coastal Resilience Plan – Cummings Park Site Walk August 5th

All are welcome!

Post Date:07/24/2025 3:24 PM

Residents are invited for a site walk at Cummings Park, where representatives from the City and Project Team will provide an overview of the Stamford Coastal Resilience Plan before taking a walk through the park.  All are welcome!

Event:  Stamford Coastal Resilience Plan – Cummings Park Site Walk

When:   August 5th (rain or shine), 5-7 PM

Where:  Meet at the Cummings Park Beach Pavilion at 5 PM

Project website:   https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/c689cedd99f14635baf2761a34713f46/

While the overall project includes the broader coastal area, the site walk is being conducted at Cummings Park because it represents a microcosm of the flood issues, with features that allow us to discuss what the flood modeling reveals and mitigation approaches that are under consideration.  During the walk, we will stop at the locations below to discuss unique flood conditions (coastal and stormwater flooding), unique flood risk reduction infrastructure (e.g., the Hurricane Barrier), and a range of adaptation strategies (from engineered to nature-based solutions) that can be implemented to reduce flood risks.

Note:  Parking in Cummings requires a parking pass.  Passes will be distributed to those who need them at the guard house.

Kindly RSVP to emckenna@stamfordct.gov so we have an approximate idea of the number of people coming.
