MAYOR’S UPDATES

Hispanic Advisory Council of Greater Stamford: It was wonderful to attend the monthly meeting of the Hispanic Advisory of Greater Stamford and connect with the many incredible organizations and small businesses dedicated to supporting and uplifting Stamford’s Hispanic community.

Walk In Permitting Center at Government Center: Last week, I stopped by the official opening of the city’s new walk-in permitting center, located on the 7th floor of the Government Center. This dedicated space is designed to assist residents with permits for residential and minor commercial projects. Since its launch, the center has significantly reduced wait times, reinforcing our commitment to providing efficient and responsive city services. I encourage residents to take advantage of this resource for a streamlined permitting process. To learn more, click here.

Leaf Pick Up Update: Despite four days of weather delays, city crews have successfully completed debris pickup above the Merritt Parkway and are now working their way toward I-95, with plans to finish by the end of this week. For updates and to track progress in your neighborhood, click here.

Stamford 2035: The City of Stamford is excited to launch the Stamford 2035 Comprehensive Plan, a once-in-a-decade opportunity to assess the city's current state and explore key questions about our future! This plan will guide Stamford’s development through 2035, focusing on crucial topics like sustainability, resilience, diversity, equity, inclusion, housing, economic growth, mobility, and infrastructure. Throughout the 10-month process, you’ll have the chance to share your vision for Stamford by participating in public meetings, workshops, surveys, and discussions with our planning team. Mill Road Bridge: The Mill Road bridge near Old Long Ridge Road is open to one lane vehicular traffic. Residents can click here for updates.

Cedar Heights Bridge Replacement: The Cedar Heights Bridge is currently closed and is scheduled to be reopened in April 2025. Residents are encouraged to check here for more information.

Hunting Ridge Road Bridge Replacement: The Hunting Ridge Road Bridge is currently closed for replacement. A detour route is in effect, with the project scheduled to be completed in June 2025. More information can be found here.

Connecticut Department of Transportation Stamford Station Construction: Construction continues at the Stamford Train Station, so please make sure to plan ahead.
