From the Mayor's Office

  • US households can now order one set of four free at-home COVID-19 test kits. Orders can be placed here. They will start shipping later this month. 
  • On Sunday January 16, the City of Stamford gave out 25,000 N95 and KN95 masks to Stamford residents to help protect against COVID-19.
  • On Friday, January 21, from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm, we will be hosting our second Citizens Service Hub on the West Side at the Stamford Diner.

 Case Numbers

Follow the City of Stamford’s Covid-19 Dashboard, for the latest up-to-date information on COVID-19 cases and vaccination rates in the City.

Vaccinations

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) expanded eligibility of booster doses to children ages 12 to 15 years old.

  • Friday, January 21: The vaccination sites at Scalzi Park (8:30 am-3:30 pm) and 137 Henry St (8:30 am-3:30 pm) will be open.
  • Saturday, January 22: The vaccination sites at Hunt Park and Cummings Beach will be open from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. The Westover School vaccination site will be open from 10:00 am- 4:00 pm. The Bethel AME clinic will be open from 10:00 am-3:00 pm.
  • Sunday January 23: The vaccination sites at Hunt Park and Cummings Beach will be open from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm and Scalzi Park from 8:30 am-3:30 pm.

Next week, Monday, January 24 – Friday, January 28, vaccines are available at the following locations free without an appointment:

  • All Ages
    • 137 Henry Street Clinic (2nd Floor): Tuesday - Saturday 8:30 am - 7:00 pm
    • Scalzi Park: Monday – Friday 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
    • Inspirica Vaccination Clinic: Wednesday, January 26 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Ages 5-11 only
    • 137 Henry Street Clinic (2nd Floor): Monday & Thursday 1 pm - 7 pm
  • Ages 12 and up only
    • 137 Henry Street: Monday - Thursday from 8:30 am – 7:00 pm / Friday 8:30 am – 3:00 pm
    • Cummings Beach: Monday - Friday from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
    • Hunt Park: Monday - Friday from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
    • North side of the Stamford Train Station: Tuesday & Thursday from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm

COVID-19 Testing Sites

  • The Accu Reference testing site at 689 Canal Street will be open next week at the following times:
    • Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 7:00 pm
    • Saturday - Sunday from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
  • The Cove Island Park testing site will be open next week at the following times.
    • Monday – Friday from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm
    • Saturday & Sunday from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Demand at Cove Island Park has been high at this site which has resulted in temporary pauses throughout the day. Before going, please check the City's social media accounts or visit our website to make sure the site is currently open.

Other Resources

  • If you are unable to leave your home or are uncomfortable traveling to a vaccine site, the Stamford Department of Health will bring the vaccine to you. 
  • All information about Stamford's response to COVID-19 can be found on our website at www.stamfordct.gov/covid19.
  • Please visit the State of Connecticut's Vaccine Portal for information on how to request a new copy of your vaccine card. 


City Services

  • Residential Garbage and Recycling collection will operate on regular schedule on Friday.
  • The Take It or Leave it Shop and the Book Swap Shop will remain closed for pickup and donations until further notice.

  • Residents and visitors are able to view upcoming Stamford concerts, in-person, and virtual events here.
  • On Tuesday, January 25, there is a special election to fill the vacant 144th state house seat. For more information about the election or to find your polling location, click here

  • The next Housing, Community Development, and Social Services Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 25 at 6:00 pm.
