Well Water Testing

Call today to have your well water tested!

If you have not taken advantage of the Stamford Health Department Laboratory's private well water testing ordinance program it is not too late! Under the revised ordinance residents can have their well water tested for pesticides, Arsenic and Uranium for $150 (first time users) or $100 (returning customers) . The amended ordinance also allows for UNLIMITED testing as well as testing TREATED and UNTREATED water samples. This program is open to all Stamford residents with well water. Testing is payable by check ONLY (no cash or credit cards). Payment is required when the water sample is collected. To set up an appointment for testing (pesticides, Arsenic and Uranium) residents can call our laboratory at 203-977-4365. Please note that our collection days are Monday – Wednesday from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

Residents with private wells may not be aware that our laboratory is state certified to test your drinking water. Our laboratory can perform a comprehensive test of your well water which includes  bacteria (potability), minerals and metals. You can come into the lab and pick up the sample bottles along with instructions. Call the laboratory at 203-977-4378 if you have any questions.
