The first thing you must do is prove that you had a valid passport. In order to do this you must obtain a letter from the embassy, consulate, or agency that issued you the passport. This letter must meet the following criteria:
- Typed on official letterhead (no photocopies)
- Contain the issuing agency’s phone number, hours of operation, and an official who can validate the letter
- Attest to the validity of the passport and contain any identifying numbers associated with the passport
After you have proven the validity of your passport, a report can be requested at the front desk.
