ASSISTANT CORPORATION COUNSEL
The City of Stamford is seeking qualified applicants for the part time position of Assistant Corporation Counsel for the Department of Legal Affairs.
POSITION/DUTIES: Under the general direction of the Corporation Counsel and the Deputy Corporation Counsel, advises City officials, agencies, boards, commissions and employees on a variety of legal matters and represents their interests in court and before other tribunals; does related work as assigned/required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited law school; admission to the Bar of the State of Connecticut and membership in good standing of the Bar of the State of Connecticut; three (3) years of full-time experience in the practice of law; and, if not already admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, eligibility for such admission.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Land-Use, contracts and litigation experience.

MECHANICAL SUPERVISOR - STAMFORD FIRE DEPARTMENT
The City of Stamford is accepting applications for the promotional position of Mechanical Supervisor for the Stamford Fire Department. This opportunity is open only to qualified Fire Department employee as outlined in the minimum requirements below.
DUTIES: Under the general direction of the Fire Chief or his designated official, performs supervisory and highly skilled mechanical work of a difficult and responsible nature, maintains and repairs automotive and mechanical equipment; does related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Current member of the Stamford Fire Department with one (1) year of experience in the rank of Fire Lieutenant or Fire Mechanic OR eight (8) years of experience in the rank of Firefighter.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S): Certification as an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) auto/heavy truck mechanic and Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Level II or III certification. These qualifications are preferred, but not required.
SCOPE OF EXAMINATION: There will be a written examination, which will test the following:
Knowledge of automotive mechanics including; electrical systems, pneumatics, print reading, welding, power transmission, lubrication, pumps, piping, rigging, mechanical maintenance, shop machines; tools, materials and equipment; internal combustion engines and supervisory skills.

The City of Stamford Human Resources Department is accepting applications for the position of Retirement Benefits Specialist. All interested, qualified candidates are urged to apply.
DUTIES: Under general direction of the Assistant Director of HR, or designee, performs responsible professional, administrative, and technical work overseeing and administering a broad range of financial, administrative, educational and communication functions related to employee benefits with a primary emphasis on the City’s retirement plans. This position is responsible for the daily administrative operation of the City’s defined benefit, defined contribution and deferred compensation retirement plans and programs, as well as, post-retirement benefits.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, human resources management, finance, accounting, public administration or a related field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible recent experience (within the last 7 years) working in a human resources, employee benefits environment one year of which should include administering retirement benefits.
Note: CEBS certification a plus.

PUBLIC HEALTH DENTAL HYGIENIST

DUTIES: Under the general supervision of the Director of Public Nursing & Dental Hygiene Services or designee, performs skilled dental hygiene work of ordinary difficulty and responsibility in conducting oral examination and prophylactic work and applying sealants; does related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited high school and from an accredited School of Dental Hygiene and two (2) years of experience as a practicing hygienist.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a valid Connecticut license to practice dental hygiene at the time of application.
