CONTRACT COMPLIANCE OFFICER

The City of Stamford is seeking qualified professionals for the postion of Contract Compliance Officer for the Office of Administration, Purchasing Division.

 

General Summary:  Under the general supervision of the Purchasing Agent, the Contract Compliance Officer designs and maintains the policies, procedures and systems necessary to track the approval, modification, administration and termination of all City contracts.  Maintains Contracts and Real Property Leases Databases; does other related work as required.

 

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and four (4) years of experience in purchasing and contract administration.

Interested candidates must submit a fully completed application for examination or employment along with a fully completed supplement No. 16-39 by the closing date as outlined in the job announcement.  Partially completed applications and/or supplements will be rejected.  This is civil service position, there will not be a written exam.  Applicants will be scored and ranked by their education, training and experience.  You are advised to read the posting in its entirety prior to submitting an application. 

 

Some Examples of Work Include:

  • Maintains a complete written record of the procurement history of all City procurements, including but not limited to:  original bid, RFP, or RFQ solicitation; documentation relative to public bid openings; documentation on bid evaluation criteria and bid evaluation matrix; notice of tentative award; if bid waiver is used, written documentation justifying the use of a waiver; documentation of approval by the Board of Finance and/or Board of Representatives, when such approval is required; and copy of the final signed contract.
  • Maintains written documentation relative to all contract amendments, modifications, change orders, and extensions, including documentation of approval by the Board of Finance and/or Board of Representatives when such approval is required.
  • Maintains a computerized system for tracking the status of all contracts, including contract amount, type of contract, basic scope of services, contract terms, commencement date, and expiration date.
  • Identifies unique procurement and contracting requirements for functions which are funded by the State and/or Federal governments.  Develop and maintain the systems and procedures necessary to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.

CROSSING GUARDS

The City of Stamford is looking for dedicated community minded individuals to serve as Crossing Guards to meet the needs of our children at Stamford Public Schools. This position is supervised by the Stamford Police Department. 

 

Ideal Candidates will demonstrate the following:

A strong work ethic with a work history of stability, reliability, dependability, and flexibility.

Willingness to work at a physically demanding job with school children.

Excellent judgment, decision-making and patience in dealing with pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

There are no specific experience requirements but candidates should be dependable and have the ability to learn on the job.

STAFF ENGINEER

DUTIES:  Under the general direction of the City Engineer or designee, assists in the planning, organizing and directing of professional and non-professional engineering functions including engineering consultation and    advice, land surveys, the preparation of contract plans and specifications and the inspection and administration of construction projects; does related work as required.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and four (4) years of professional engineering experience either with a municipality or with a large construction company or consultant.
