PROMOTIONAL EXAM INFORMATION

 

 

FIRE LIEUTENANT

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:  By date of examination, five (5) years of experience in the rank of Firefighter in the Stamford Fire Department, be at minimum a CT State Certified EMT, and Fire Service Instructor I, to be eligible to take the Civil Service promotional exam for Fire Lieutenant.

 

FIRE CAPTAIN

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:  By date of examination, an employee must have one (1) year of experience at the rank of Lieutenant in the Stamford Fire Department, be at minimum a CT State Certified EMT. Fire Officer I and Fire Service Instructor I, to be eligible to take the Civil Service promotional exam for Fire Captain.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:  Upon promotion and as a condition of passing probation, an employee promoted to Captain shall obtain State of Connecticut Fire Officer II certification and complete ICS 300.

ASSESSMENT INSPECTOR - PERSONAL PROPERTY

The City of Stamford Tax Assessor Division is recruiting qualified candidates for the postion of Assessment Inspector - Personal Property.

 

DUTIES: Under the general supervision of the Tax Assessor, obtains data in the field on real and personal property for assessment purposes; does related work as required.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited high school and two (2) years of full time experience in accounting, double entry bookkeeping or financial analysis OR graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: At time of appointment, possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.

 

SCOPE OF EXAMINATION: There will be a written examination on a date to be determined, weighted 100%.  Date of exam to be determined.

The City of Stamford Purchasing Department is accepting applications for Seasonal Procurement Clerk.

 

DUTIES: The seasonal Procurement Clerk will perform technical and administrative support duties under the direction of the Purchasing Agent or designee.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited high school and two (2) years of equivalent combination of training, education and experience working in purchasing department or an associate’s degree.

CROSSING GUARDS

The City of Stamford is looking for dedicated community minded individuals to serve as Crossing Guards to meet the needs of our children at Stamford Public Schools. This position is supervised by the Stamford Police Department. 

 

Ideal Candidates will demonstrate the following:

A strong work ethic with a work history of stability, reliability, dependability, and flexibility.

Willingness to work at a physically demanding job with school children.

Excellent judgment, decision-making and patience in dealing with pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
