Civility in America

Mayor Michael Pavia has said he considers it a personal calling to make Stamford "one of the most civil cities in America."

According to Mayor Pavia, "Civility represents respect for the views and ideas of others.  It is the very foundation of what it means to be a citizen. We gather each evening for a thoughtful and meaningful discussion about a virtue that nowadays is harder and harder to find."

Mayor Pavia wants this lecture series to foster public discussion on the breakdown of civility in society, and to provoke thought and action on how we may restore it.
